I’ve recently discovered Rexanne Becnel’s books, but upon further research, I discover she has been writing for some time! Apparently, she has a whole host of books for me to read 🙂 She has published 19 books over the past 14 years. She apparently attributes her creativity to two cups of Cafe au lait each day! I can completely relate 😉
Ms. Becnel lives in the New Orleans area with her husband, dog, Sadie, and close to her grown children and their families.
I went looking for information on Ms. Becnel and her books as I thoroughly enjoyed the 4 books that I have read. My source of information these days seems to primarily be the internet. I could find very little information! She doesn’t seem to have a personal website (something that is rare in this day and age). There is a Facebook page for her- again with very little information. She is part of the fantasticfiction.co.uk website. Again, very little information except for a list of books published. I looked at YouTube and found one 4 year old promotion for “The Payback Club”. But when I surfed around at what was available for other authors, I found a huge collection of professionally produced trailers for books, as well as candid interviews.
I think that I find this refreshing. When did all this commercialism become necessary for an author? Shouldn’t their books speak for themselves – or do we only read the highly publicized books? I must admit a weakness for partially naked men on the front cover of a novel, but do we need to promote the sex before the writing skill? What are your thoughts?
