I think Friday has turned in my favorite day of the week for many reasons.  The weekend is almost here…..and the blog hop activities that we get to participate in!  Yeah!  There are three major hops that take place on Friday we’ll start with Follow Friday sponsored by Parajunkee.com.  Here’s the instructions:

  1. Follow the Follow My Book Blog Friday Host { Parajunkee.com } and any one else you want to follow on the list
  2. Follow our Featured Bloggers – http://www.iceybooks.com/
  3. Put your Blog name & URL in the Linky thing.
  4. Grab the button up there and place it in a post, this post is for people to find a place to say hi in your comments
  5. Follow Follow Follow as many as you can
  6. If someone comments and says they are following you, be a dear and follow back. Spread the Love…and the followers
  7. If you want to show the link list, just follow the link below the entries and copy and paste it within your post!

Congratulations to Hafsah at Icey Books for being the feature blogger this week.
The question this week is what do I do with my spare time?  The obvious answer is read and blog.  Currently, that’s about it as I have a very active daughter that I chauffeur all over town to her various activities.  I also spend alot of time at her school.  Not much time left over 🙂
Our second activity is the Book Blogger Hop sponsored by Jennifer at Crazy-For-Books.com.  this meme, like Parajunkee’s attracts literally hundreds of entries each week!!  Lots and lots of blog to wander through!

RULES:


Your blog should have content related to books, including, but not limited to book reviews.

1.  Enter your book blog link in the Linky List below
In your link, please state the main genre that you review:  eclectic, contemp. fiction, ya, paranormal, mystery, non-fiction, etc.

Please do not list every genre you review – if you are review a variety, please put eclectic!  The Hop gets jumbled up if the title is too long, so please limit to one genre.  I will be limiting the number of characters in the title to ensure the Hop doesn’t look messy!  Thank you!

Example:  Crazy-for-Books (eclectic adult fiction)

2. Post about the Hop on your blog. Spread the word about the book party!  The more the merrier!  In your blog post, answer the following question (new question each week!).

This week’s question is: “What very popular and hyped book in the blogosphere did you NOT enjoy and how did you feel about posting your review?”

I’m happy to report that although I’ve on several occasions waited and waited and waited for a book to be released, rushed to the store to buy a brand new copy only to rush home to read it and half an hour later be so disappointed I was almost in tears.  Thankfully I haven’t had a blog at that time so I haven’t had to review the book.  It think my disappointment would come out in my review!

    Even when I’m disappointed in a book I blog honestly- it’s nothing personal about the author, I just tell the truth. Of course sometimes a book is SO bad I don’t even want to spend much time talking about why it’s that awful. that only happened once but I just posted two or three sentences about it.

    I don’t think posting disappointing reviews are a bad thing. I just think it’s all in the presentation. I like honesty and if it disappointed you, then that’s just fine. 😉 If you don’t mind my asking, which books make that list of tears?

    Regarding Fallen, I think you should give it a try. It wasn’t the most wonderful book, but there were a few good things about it. I have heard from several people that Torment, the sequel, was much better. So, it might be worth it for you to give it a chance.

      Hi Laura! Not to worry about your faux pas! It’s Friday – we’ve all had them and this is the perfect day for it! Thanks for your thoughts I had one particularly much anticipated book that was a dud recently and it was upsetting. I agree, we need to share our thought of the books so that a discussion can ensue. What doesn’t appeal to one person, could be another person’s favorite book!
