Meet Me On Monday

By Barb Drozdowich

Since it’s almost Monday, it’s time to wander over to Java’s blog at Never Growing Old and see what questions she has for us this week!  Meet me on Monday is a weekly meme hosted by Java.  If you want to join us, head over to her blog and enter your link.

This week’s questions:

1.  What will your Christmas dinner consist of?
2.  Do you watch commercials or flip through the channels?
3.  How long will you leave your Christmas decorations up?
4.  What movie makes you cry every time you watch it?
5.  Do you have a Facebook?

1. Christmas dinner in my house consists of:

– turkey and stuffing and cranberry jelly

– gravy

– mashed potatoes

– candied yams

– squash

– corn

– carrots

– brussell sprouts

– Christmas cookies for dessert

and I do it all – this year there will be 17 people (I think) 🙂

2. I read through the commercials.  I don’t watch much TV, however!

3. The Christmas decorations stay up until New Years.  The lights on the house don’t come down until spring because I think the house looks pretty with snow and lights!

4. Almost any movie will make me cry if it is at all sentimental.  Ghost is a good example, but I’ve been known to cry during Sesame Street 🙂

5. I have Facebook.  I don’t spend alot of time on it, but I tend to be a lurker, not a poster.  I like checking up on my siblings who are much chattier than I am 🙂

I totally agree with you on the outdoor Christmas lights! I love the way the neighborhood looks with all the lights up and it seem so sad when they come down. I wish everyone would leave them up all the time but then I guess it wouldn’t be special if they did.

    Merry Christmas!

I love your answer to #4…I don’t really need a reason to cry, either!!! 🙂

      Hi Deb!
Thanks for the visit! Hope you have a great Christmas!

Your dinner sounds awesome. We did that for years and years, then we changed to Prime Rib a few years ago. The pizza this year is just trying to change things up so I can enjoy the day too! My adult children are awesome but don’t help much. It’s just six of us total so most of the work falls on me. I’m tired of doing it all. You have a very Merry Christmas. Thanks for stopping over.

      Hi Debby!
As much as I like turkey and all the fixings….pizza sound incredible! Just like donuts for breakfast – no prep time!

Christmas dinner sounds yummy except for the sprouts, never been a fan 🙂

      Hi Julia!
Thanks for the visit! I think people either like sprouts or they don’t – no inbetweens! I also think it’s genetic – my entire family fight over sprouts while visitors look on in horror 🙂 Hope you have a great christmas!!

Barb, I loved your answers especially leaving the outside Christmas lights up..that is a great idea. I read the post about the Flash Mobs singing the Hallelujah Chorus, and how lucky you were to have a father that was able to sing one of my, and many others, all time favorite songs!

Hi Shawn! Just imagine eating your lunch in the food court and the Hallelujah Chorus breaks out around you…..incredible!! Almost every Christmas I attend a concert and that’s how I welcome Christmas 🙂 I like to sing along, but I only know the tenor part 😉 Hope you have a wonderful Christmas! Thanks for stopping by….

I bet the house does look pretty with lights and snow. How about sending some snow our way? I’ll leave the outside lights up! LOL

    Hi,

I think you meant to say 18 people. What time can I come over? lol Everything sounds yummy. This is the first time I will not be cooking for Christmas. It feels weird for a lack of words. Since I love my sister in law cooking. I dont mind.

Thanks for coming by and commenting. Merry Christmas!
