Yeay! It’s Friday…..I’ve survived the first week back to school 🙂 To celebrate, I get to play some of my favorite weekly memes. To start with, Parajunkee hosts a “Follow my Book Blog Friday” every week. You can link up to her blog and find often 200+ book blogs to wander through. Also take the time to wander through her Book Bloggin 101 feature. Tonight I think I have learned to put progress bars in place for my reading challenges. If you see them there, I was a good student, if not, well…..
Parajunkee wants to know this week what we’ve learned new from blogs this week. I work part time in a high school library and I’ve been wandering around looking for YA titles to suggest to the librarian. There are quite a few voracious readers that are always looking for suggestions! Thanks for all the ideas!
The second Friday meme I’m going to play is “Book Blogger Hop” hosted by Jennifer from Crazy-for-books. This is also a popular blog hop and also attracts over 200+ blogs.  Jennifer’s question today is: What book influenced/changed your life?
Wow! That’s a difficult question! I’m a voracious reader! I read anything an everything, but what probably started me really going with reading was the Nancy Drew/Hardy Boys/ Bobbsey Twins series. I would read them as fast as my mom would buy them! Quite a few books over the years have been meaningful in certain ways – I could identify with certain characters, or the story was particularly heart wrenching, but to me, just starting on the path to independent reading was most important!
Join me on this blog hop also.
For those of us a bit long in the tooth, but young in the spirit, join Java at Never Growing Old. Since it is Friday, she takes pity on us and doesn’t expect us to answer difficult questions, just link up to her blog and go visiting! Come join me on this one also!
I’m also cruising by:

Hi from your newest follower. I always dreamed of working in a library…is that sad? I know it is not the most glamorous of jobs but I when I was little I thought it must be the most amazing thing to work with books all the time.

Laurel!
Thanks for the visit! Good to know others that enjoyed Nancy Drew, etc.!
I only discovered my love for reading three years ago. I didn’t get into the Nancy Drew series. I kind of feel like I missed a right of passage. Do you think an adult in her early 30s would enjoy them?
Hi Jenni!
You might find the Nancy Drew series a bit childish, but I’m going to read them to my daughter starting in a year!
Hi this is Nicole from Colies Kitchen I just discovered your blog and wanted to drop by and say hi. I really like your blog, and am now a new follower. I would love to have you stop by Colie’s Kitchen if you get a chance. http://www.colieskitchen.com
Hi Nicole! Thanks for the visit and the follow! I’m your newest follower!
This will probably come of something as a surprise but the book that changed/influenced my life (more than any other) is a non-fiction book. I know we all focus on novels and the fanciful fiction we love to read but The Four Work Week is the book that gets all the credit. I know the title sounds fictional but it really isn’t. Hop over to my blog and find out why – http://www.howardsherman.net
Happy Book Blogger Hop Day!

Hi Steph!
Thanks for the visit and the compliments! I enjoy Fridays!
Hi Barb!
Thanks for stopping by The Enchanted Book and giving me a little encouragement after that post. I was feeling really weird after those two books. I don’t mind some freak….but wow. I need to find some safe romantica or even some straight up erotica to calm myself. LOL
I’m looking forward to the ebook tours. I think it’s such a great idea, and I’m so glad Theresa is heading it up. I think we have a great group. And I’m enjoying the books a lot.
I tend to be more of a lurker than commenter, so while I snag buttons from people, I don’t comment a lot. Maybe I can work on that for a New Year’s resolution. 🙂
Have a great night!
Selena
Hi Selena!
Thanks for the visit and the comments! I completely agree! Like you, I”m more of a lurker than a commenter, but one of my Bookish resolutions is to leave more comments, even if the are only “hi”
