Friday Follows and hops Feb 11th

By Barb Drozdowich

Welcome to Friday!  It’s been an eventful week and it’s time for my favorite activities! Before we begin, I want to catch you up to date on what’s been going on here.

Let’s start with Giveaways!  This week was the huge Follower Love Giveaway Hop sponsored by I am a Reader, Not a Writer.  There were just under 200 blog entered giveaways.  To enter click HERE.  I also have a Valentine’s Day Giveaway on also.  To enter that click HERE.  All of the winner will probably be announced on the 15th.  Valentine’s day is my wedding anniversary so I plan on being busy that day 🙂

I was interviewed by Chrystal on Snowdrop Dreams of Books on Wednesday.  I’m pretty excited about that.  To read the interview click HERE.

Coming up next week I have two exciting events!  Monday is Valentine’s Day which means the giveaways are closed, but more exciting that that, I’m participating in an event called Bestseller for a Day. A whole bunch of book bloggers are going to be posting reviews and celebrating a book called Play Fling by Amber Scott.  BLURB HERE.

I’m almost finished reading this book and I don’t think the blurb really gives a good idea of what the book is about.  I’m really enjoying it, so stop by on Monday to see my review.  There will be draws for gift cards for commenting on the review and other activities planned.

On Wednesday I’m a stop on the blog tour for a new book out called Chiczofenia by Dr. Laina Turner.  Drop by and comment on her guest post and you could win a $40 VISA gift card.  Here’s the blurb for her book : Chiczofrenic is the term for the woman who is purposeful and intentional in how crazy her life may be. The goal with this book is to recognize many women drive themselves crazy, intentionally, by trying to be all they can. I firmly believe we can have it all. A great relationship, being a great mom, keeping a good house (if that’s important to you), being a career woman, following your dreams, working out, eating right, and many more. Women seem to have the knack for how to manage it all and not go crazy. Women seem to always take on more and more…and are successful at it.

Women have tried forever to pretend they fit in the norm even when the norm wasn’t what they wanted. I want women to embrace that more – without caring what anyone thinks. Learn to laugh at your own craziness and be cool at the same time. Be the strong individual you want to be while looking like a million bucks.

Being a woman is difficult and is a constant evolution and journey of self discovery. It’s not always an easy journey and through the process you realize everyone has her own issues. Her own brand of crazy, which is my own kind of normal. Crazy but embracing it.

I managed to get two book reviews posted this week.

At Last Comes Love by Mary Balogh and

One Unashamed Night by Sophia James

Wow, it looks like alot of stuff!  Well, on to Parajunkee’s Friday Follow.  Her question this week is:

What is your favorite romance hero-type? Stereotype wise. Do you like the strong silent type or the brute macho man

I have to say, I like a take charge kind of guy!  Strong women are fine in a romance, but the hero can’t be lead around by his….well…you know whats 🙂

Our second stop for the day is  Blogger Hop hosted by Crazy-For-Books.  This week we are supposed to link to a review that we are particularly proud of.  I’d say that I’m fond of my review for At Last Comes Love by Mary Balogh!  The link is above or right HERE.  This set of Mary Balogh’s books about the Huxtable family is one of the best groups of books I’ve read!  If you haven’t read any of Mary Balogh’s work over the years, pick up this series 🙂

Lastly today, I’m dropping by Bitten by Paranormal Romance to join the Over 18 Tag Along Friday.

This week’s question is what is your favorite genre:  Normally my answer is Historical Romance, but lately, I’ve been reading some awesome erotic romance…..so it’s becoming a toss-up!

Lastly is the Friday Follow 40 & over hosted by Java at Never Growing Old.

    hejhej,
I’m such a nuisance, I always am and I’m so sorry for it, but I can’t help it :(. Anyway, why? Well, I just wanted to point out that you link in this post to your review of’ one unashamed night’ by Sophie Jordan. Well it surely is Sophia James, right?
I’ve only been following your blog for a short time, but I enjoy it immensely! Even though I hardly read romance anymore. Keep up the good work!

    The Post Is:

This week I reviewed a work of suspense fiction that is such a wide departure from the thriller genre that I feel everyone – fans and foes of the genre alike – really should investigate.
