BLB eBook Tour & Giveaway – His Elle by Jemima Valentino

By Barb Drozdowich

Welcome! Today we’re talking about His Elle a new book out by Jemima Valentino. We’re also going to giveaway a copy of this book. More on that later!

Jemima Valentino lives in the UK with her husband, her daughters, some cats and a dog. Jemima has worked as a commercial writer for more than ten years. After becoming an industry expert in her chosen field of business, Jemima turned her hand to writing fiction as a pastime, and to her surprise she didn’t suck. Jemima writes for pleasure, and her repertoire includes erotica, modern fiction and short stories. According to Goodreads, Jemima is also working on two new titles which she is hoping to release this year; The House on Hundred Hill in keeping with the BDSM erotica genre and The Ninth Medium a paranormal romance. We wait in eager anticipation of these releases.

So, let’s talk about His Elle!

Elle turned the case over in her fingers and found the clasp. She knew she shouldn’t open it but she just couldn’t resist. She cautiously flipped up the silver toggle and the lid creaked open. She peeked inside and instantly clamped her hand over her mouth to prevent the shriek that threatened to erupt from her throat. Fear and anger simultaneously collided in her head and she felt sick. A wave of nausea surged through her and she dropped the box, sending it tumbling on to the table with a loud thud.
“Oh, my God!” she whispered, as she crumpled to the floor. Her blood ran cold as she caught her breath and gingerly picked it up. Her eyes darted to the door in the vain hope that he hadn’t heard the noise. When she was sure she hadn’t been overheard, she carefully placed the case in the bag with the rest of his equipment. For a split second she thought of hiding it, but he had left it there to be put in the bag and he would know if it was missing. Elle took a deep breath, zipped up the bag and returned to kneel on her pillow at the foot of his chair. Her heart was pounding and her eyes shifted between the doorway and the bag knowing the only thing that would get her through this was her complete trust in him.

His Elle is the story of Elle and her Master.  They have a chance meeting at an urgent care clinic and fall deeply in love.  Although I’m not a fan of BDSM, I was taken with how well written this book is!  The story grabs you from the beginning and hangs on to you until you finish!  It isn’t for the faint of heart.  I’ve read a fair amount of erotica and this story pushed my boundries.  It didn’t end the way I thought it would and I’m still mulling this book over in my mind.  It’s interesting that several weeks later I’m still thinking about this book!  The writing is graphic and is intended for mature audiences.

This book has been well received.  The Forbidden Bookshelf reviewed His Elle and said:”Debut  author Jemima Valentino, will take you on a journey of complete physical and emotional submission of one sub to her Dom who found ardent love in the acts of relinquishing and taking control.”

Aobibliophile reviewed this book and said: “Somehow I got myself an “education” and  stepped out of my comfort zone for the better half of an hour. Now that I have had my “lessons”,  I am stepping back in.”

Diana at Book of Secrets also reviewed His Elle. I love this paragraph in her review so I’m quoting her for you! “His Elle is one of those stories that will haunt my thoughts for a longtime.  The characters were written with such depth that I was feeling their emotions too – passion, fear, joy, anger, heartbreak.  The ending was a bit of a shock, and it left me with much to think about.  I only wish the author would have given us more details about their life together prior to this night.”

As you can see, this is a book that is evoking strong emotions!  Jemima is allowing me to give a copy of this book away.  This giveaway will go from today to the end of Indie Reads Appreciation Week which is March 20th.  If you are interested in winning a copy of this book, just leave me a  comment below with an e-mail address to contact you.  I’ll be announcing the winner  on March 21st

This sounds intense! Although I don’t really read BDSM, but I am very intrigued after reading the little excerpt above… I think I might want to give it a try.
