Welcome to Sugarbeat’s Books – The Home of the Romance Novel
Today is an interview with Kim Reynolds, author of the Alex Charles series, and in particular the book, Dreams in Time. Kim has graciously agreed to answer some of my questions so that we can all learn more about this latest release! She has also agreed to giveaway book one and two of the Alex Charles Series. This giveaway is part of the Summer Giveaway Hop that is happening all week. To enter this giveaway, fill out the form HERE. Without further ado, here’s Kim:
Barb – How would you describe your book in 20 words or less without using the blurb?
Kim – I would describe it as: a timeless love story about two people that could never let go of the love they shared.
Barb – How would your friends describe you in 20 words or less?
Kim – Friends would say: She’s honest, loyal, fun, compassionate and focused on being a great author.
Barb – What do you love about writing?
Kim – I love, love, love being a part of someone’s life that I never knew. The ability to touch someone’s life by way of my books means so much to me. I strive to make an impression on people to be better than they are, to believe the impossible, to go the extra mile to help each other. Writing is fun and exciting, but seeing those that are fans being reached at that level is more of an incentive to write than anything else.
Barb – What’s the hardest part of writing a book?
Kim – Editing. I think every writer would say the same thing. Editing and watching your words get changed, added or deleted off the page, is painful to say the least.
Barb – Who is your favorite character in your new release?
Kim – I love Alex. I think she is a great person who really wants to grow into this whole time travel experience. She’s tough, smart and strong. I love that about her.
Barb – What is your favorite scene?
Kim – I LOVE, the part when Jackson tells Alex that he will come back in time for her if something should happen during her mission. I read it over and over again. I also love the hot dog story with Nan and the two boys. It makes me laugh every single time I read it.
Barb – Do you have an all time favorite book?
Kim – I would say Ethan Frome. Most people don’t even know what the book is about. But it is the most timeless love story. I think of that story every single day and how Ethan loved this woman so much he was willing to die with her so they could be together. Who does that anymore?
Barb – If you could ask your readers one question, what would it be?
Kim – What do you hope is revealed in the series?
Barb – How can readers stay in touch?
Kim – They can leave comments on my website, www.kimreynoldsonline.com or Facebook friend me. I love to hear comments!!
Barb – Where is your work available?
Kim – Right now we are focusing on paperback and Kindle. I would recommend Amazon, since all book stores do not carry my book and it is the least expensive way to buy the book. It contains reviews so you can look at the series and decide if you want to be a part of the series.
Barb – Anything else you would like to add?
Kim – Just a great big old southern thank you for the chance to be a part of this author review. I appreciate the opportunity more than I can say! I have so many lifelong readers and I want to tell them thank you for the support. I want to hear what you want to see in the series and I won’t disappoint!
I’d like to thank Kim for dropping by and sharing her book with us! Take a minute to read the blurb below.
On a cold winter’s evening in Raleigh, North Carolina, Alex Charles left 1989 and traveled into the darkness of 1942. Her mission was simple, to save two boys from drowning just days before Christmas. But how could she have known the danger that awaited her in the past?
Joseph Graham, her fun-loving uncle, tried to give her all the essential necessary for time travel and changing destiny. However, he couldn’t live without his own true love, Laura Chestnut, a woman he met during the last days of the Civil War. Sometimes forever is too long to wait. Returning to 1870, Joe knew the risk; going back for personal gain was forbidden.
The rules aren’t the same this time. Even though destiny can change, how far will Alex and Joseph go to rewrite the past?
