Workaholic Gabrielle Ellis never lets her relationships make it past a couple dates. The sooner she can ditch them, the less chance they might leave her. Of course, she never picks the kind of guys she’d want anything long term with anyway… After a night out celebrating, yet another escape from her jackass of the week, and her upcoming move, she wakes up in her best friend’s truck in the middle of nowhere.
According to Jake Marshal, she dumps every guy she dates for one reason–they’re not him. He promises her, if she’ll just let go and allow herself to feel, she’ll know she belongs in his bed, forever. Jake, consummate bachelor and participant in her hidden fantasies, wants to stake his claim. On her. As much as she wants him, she’s scared, too. After one touch, Gabrielle knows she doesn’t stand a chance because Jake always gets what he wants. But just maybe, she’s been his all along.
Passionate, refreshing and unique are great words to describe this super hot short story by author Madison Scott. Two best friends finally give into the powerful attraction between them, and results in a very steamy happily ever after! This story gives us sexy characters, action that steams up your glasses, and a gently taught lesson in what’s important in life!
When his best friend, Gabrielle breaks up with yet another man, Jake takes matters into his own hands. He kidnaps her and takes her to his cabin in the woods for the weekend to convince her that he’s the one for her. This confirmed bachelor has come to the conclusion that he wants to spend the rest of his life making her happy and now is the time to do it, before she leaves town.
Gabrielle is afraid of taking Jake up on his offer. He’s been her best friend for years and she depends on him. What if they part ways after the weekend; what if this destroys her cherished friendship?
At 33 pages, this is a detail packed short story. The sex is hot and steamy and the chemistry is strong. We watch two friends finally giving into the incredible attraction between them. Some lessons are learned from a 6 year old that lead to a kleenex worthy happily ever after!
This is a great little book – well worth the time to read!

Flirting with the Fireman by Judy Jarvie
Release Jan 28, 2011
Publisher: The Wild Rose Press

Felicity Truro’s diary is filling up with problems. First there’s the ugliest bridesmaid’s dress in the world, then there’s her sick aunt’s serious secret. But it’s Rod McAllister, the handsome firefighter best man with attitude, who’s melting her willpower and frazzling her nerves the most.
Can Flick survive being a bridesmaid for the eleventh time whilst falling for the best man? And how will she cope when Rod needs a stand-in and she’s promoted to top of the candidate list?
Combine a hot man in uniform and a not so mousy librarian and sparks will fly! I loved this spicy little romance by a debut author.
Flirting with the Fireman is the story of a small town fireman and the town’s librarian. Rod McAllister is the well-buffed young man, nicknamed “Mr Hunky”, who is the heart throb of all the women of the small town of Raynesford. Sadly, he serves as a constant irritant for Flicity. Rod brings his mom into the library each week and he and Felicity verbally spar.
Felicity has been a bridesmaid far too many times but when her friend Linda calls to ask her, she reluctantly agrees. “It won’t be too bad” she thinks until she finds out that Rod is the best man.
This story is a cute little romance that will delight any reader. The story is mostly told through text messages, e-mails and phone messages between the various characters of the story. Felicity also has a diary in which she makes delightful entries. I found that this method of story telling has the plot marching right along. The sarcasm and cat and mouse games played by Felicity and Rod have the reader laughing in delight!
Not only was this story completely captivating, but totally unique in my experience. Alot of information was covered and the book had the feel of a complete novel although it was only about 100 pages. Take the opportunity to check out this new author – an excellent effort for a first book!
