Giveaway Winners and Book Publishing Annoucement

By Barb Drozdowich 4 Comments

Good Morning All!

Today is a pretty exciting day for me. My first book has been published on Amazon!

This whole journey started quite some time ago. I was curious whether other book bloggers were seeing the same issues as I was when dealing with authors. Was it a factor of experience, genre, or was there something to be learned here. After several conversations, I created a survey consisting of 26 questions and to my great surprise 215 of you responded!

Holy Cow! I was honored by the response!

Quite quickly, it became obvious that several of the questions were poorly worded and misunderstood, or need to be word answers, not multiple choice. So, I created a second survey that instead of posting on my blog, I sent out to everyone who answered the first questionnaire. Again, I was amazed by the response that I got to my questions.

What was originally going to be a short question and answer document to be shared with any book blogger that wanted a copy quickly morphed into a more in-depth book. Before I could get very far with this project, my personal life took priority as my family went through a year and a bit of one loss after another. Life became an exercise in attending funerals, visiting relatives in the hospital, and simply just getting from one day to the next.

This period of our life passed, and I went back to my project of not only trying to put everyone’s thoughts into writing, but also finding an editor. After many false starts, and the fantastic help of my mom, the retired English Teacher who still wields a mighty red pen 🙂 I have a finished project.

While trying to sort out which book bloggers wanted to mentioned in this book and which ones didn’t, I happened upon my original post and realized that in the haze of funerals, I completely forgot about the giveaway that was supposed to accompany this survey.

So, I have finally drawn 4 names and sent off some emails. Hopefully those people will get back to me and I can apologize profusely for the oversight and send them their prizes!

As for the rest of you…I’d love your thoughts on the book. If this is something that interests you, please drop me a line at sugarbeatbc@gmail.com and I’d love to chat with you about the book.

      Hi Chrystal!
Thanks for your kind words! It is pretty exciting. I work around books all the time, and don’t really think about the actual act of publishing a book. I just concentrate on reading them 🙂 I look forward to your thoughts!
