Weekly meme posts

ReCOVERy Friday

By Barb Drozdowich

ReCOVERy Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Miss Page-Turner’s City of Books.  This will be the second week that I’ve participated.  I found all kinds of new friends last week and added to my TBR pile in a big way.  I’m going to have to start sneeking books into the house and hiding them somewhere…..or Santa can get me an e-book reader and my TBR won’t be as physically imposing 🙂

What we are to do is post a book cover that we like for some reason and discuss why.  I think I have to post two covers this week. The first graphic is for Mistress by Midnight by Nicola Cornick.  The second cover I’ve posted is for a book that I reviewed earlier this week.  I think both covers are outstanding for the use of color and the beautiful gowns.  I think the Cinderella-little-girl part of me always wanted  a beautiful gown to wear to a ball 🙂

Thanks for stopping by.  I’m off to view other’s covers.

Follow Friday and Blogger Hop Friday

By Barb Drozdowich

On this post we’re going to participate in two more Friday memes.  The first one is Follow Friday hosted by Parajunkee.  The point of this meme is to follow some new blogs; find some more blogs that are interesting, find some new friends.  Each week a fellow blogger is chosen to be featured.  This week it is Insane Hussein.  Head over to Parajunkee to learn more about this blogger.

Blogger Hop Friday is a meme that is hosted by  Jennifer at Crazy-for-books.  This meme is hugely popular getting more than 200 entries each week!  Each week we are given a task and then we have to report on it the following week.  Last week we were challenged to find a new blog and follow that blog, commenting on each and every entry.  I failed in the challenge 🙁  I won’t admit who I was following but I did comment on the first post of the week, but although I read the rest of the posts, I failed to comment.

Today’s question: “If you find a book that looks interesting but is part of a series, do you always start with the first title?”

My answer: I guess I’m not very observant!  I tend to pick up books for various reasons and often I’m well into the book before I realize that it is part of a series.  I do, usually, read the whole series, but often not in order because of that first book.  A prime example is I requested Mistress by Midnight by Nicola Cornick from NetGalley because I thought it sounded interesting, but it wasn’t until I was well into it did I realize that it was #3 in a series.

Have a great week!  I’m looking forward to finding some new blogs to read!
