From Newly Wedded magazine: “This castle in upstate New York is the stuff of fantasies! And a kiss under the arch might make your love–or lust–last forever…”
Indulging a family request, CIA agent Cam Sutherland has returned to Castle MacPherson for the first time in years to investigate a decades-old theft. But more importantly, it’s the place where–in a brief moment–Cam very nearly lost his heart and soul to wedding planner Adair MacPherson.
And Adair is still as bewitching as ever. When Cam finds a seven-year-old erotic story written by her–and starring him–his blood damn near boils over. The only solution? To prove to Adair that fantasies are best made into realities…and the best magic happens between the sheets!
No Risk Refused combines a little paranormal twists with a wonderful love story that has been many years in the making.
This story starts in Glen Loch, NY in 1812 where we find Eleanor Campbell MacPherson in the midst of a thunder storm secreting the jewelry that she brought with her to the New World 50 years before when she ran away with Angus MacPherson. She has had visions and dreams and has finally decided to do what she feels she was meant to do. She buries the jewels beneath the magical arch that he husband built with stones brought with them from Scotland.
We now jump ahead to present day and meet Cam Sutherland, a respected CIA agent. He is meeting with his boss about a criminal that his boss has been hunting for many years. There has been a break in the case and is heading off to do some research. Cam, in the meantime has been asked by his mother and step-father to go to Castle MacPherson to check up on things.
Cam runs into Adair for the first time in a number of years and is amazed that the attraction between them still burns as hot as ever. Adair is recovering from a breakup with a man who not only dumped her, but also took credit for work they did together and she ended up fired.
Cam is a company man, but can resist Adair. Whe he catches her trying to hide a box, his curiousity is spurred and he is shocked to find an erotic story that Adair wrote about the two of them and decides to give her her fantasy.
This book is scorchingly hot, and leaves the reader with a happily ever after that seemingly stretches across time. Being a huge fan of Cara Summers, I always enjoy her writing style. She does a great job of writing love scenes that are unbelievably hot, but not overly graphic. It makes for a great read. Pick up a copy and enjoy for yourself.
