When Cassie Douglas unknowingly arrives at a sultry tropical island resort where the sole business is to provide the perfect pleasure fantasy, Cassie finds it difficult to overcome her inhibitions and join in the fun.
Ryan MacKenna isn’t about to let the feisty red-head disrupt his life or his business. He lives firmly by his set of self-imposed rules which keep business and pleasure very separate. But from the first moment he meets Ms. Douglas, he is in danger of breaking every rule.
Pleasure Island is short, erotic and heartwarming. A tale of two reluctant lovers finding happiness in a resort filled with sensual pleasure. A wonderfully spicy tale with a happily ever after.
Ryan MacKenna inherited an island resort dedicated to all things sensual from his brother. He left his advertising job to run the resort when his brother died. He normally separates himself from the actual activities at the resort, but when he receives a letter from Sophie, a frequent visitor to the resort, he feels compelled to act. Cassie is not too happy to find out her friend, Sophie, is sending her to Pleasure Island for the holiday she has insisted on. She tries to get a plane off the island to go home to no avail. Ryan meets her at the airstrip and convinces her to stay for the week. Although Ryan is determined to keep his distance from Cassie, he feels drawn to her and finds himself breaking his “hands off” rule.
I found Pleasure Island to be a spicy little story that captivated my interest right from the start. The story telling is vivid and the characters are engaging. The character that I liked the best was one of the secondary characters – Raphael. He serves as Cassie’s attendant during her time on the island. Although he is written as young he comes across as a sage old soul. He serves as Cassie’s voice of reason, counselling her during her time on the island. He is a wonderful addition to this story!
Although this story is quite graphic, it comes across as a wonderful love story. In any other author’s hands, this story might be a bit trashy, but I found it to be the opposite. I would highly recommend this story! It’s a completely enjoyable romance with a 2 kleenex ending!
